TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
PURPOSE
To review proposed changes in Section XI sponsored tournaments and make
recommendations to conferences and the Athletic Council.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. This shall be a standing committee of Section XI.
B. The chairman shall be appointed by the Section XI President with the approval
of the Executive Board.
C. Committee membership shall consist of one male and one female from each
conference. The Executive Director shall serve in an ex-officio non-voting
capacity.
D. Members shall serve for a two-year term as specified in the Bylaws,
Article VI, Section 7.
E. Meetings shall be conducted as necessary.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
A. The Committee will consider proposals for Section XI sponsored tournament structures
which shall be submitted in writing by the sport chairmen to the Executive Director at
least two sport seasons prior to the anticipated implementation date.
B. Following the consideration of requests for tournament
changes, the
committee shall forward its recommendations to conferences and the Athletic
Council for approval.
C. The Tournament Committee, including the Section Sports
Chair, shall have the authority to revise a Section XI championship and
NYSPHSAA/Section qualifying procedures due to extenuating circumstances such as
a severe weather event, prolonged widespread power outages, etc. (Approved

VIOLATIONS COMMITTEE
PURPOSE
To determine if reported violations of the Out of Season Practice Policy of
Section XI have occurred.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. This committee shall be a continuing committee of Section XI.
B. The chairman and members shall be appointed by the Section XI
President.
C. Members shall serve one-year terms at the discretion of the
Section XI President.
D. The Executive Director shall serve in an ex-officio non-voting
capacity.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
A. The committee will review allegations of serious violations of
the Out of Season Practice Policy.
B. The committee will make a determination regarding such
allegations.
C. If a determination is made that a violation occurred and if the
alleged violation continues or it is determined that the violation is of such a
nature as to warrant further consideration, the matter will be referred to the
Ethics Committee.
