SAFETY AND CHEMICAL HEALTH COMMITTEE
PURPOSE
To provide current information relative to chemical health and safety in
athletics to member schools of Section XI.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. This shall be a standing committee of Section XI.
B. The chairman shall be appointed by the Section XI President with the
approval of the Executive Board.
C. Committee members shall include one representative from each conference
and the Section XI representative to the NYSPHSAA Chemical Health
Committee. The Executive Director shall serve in an ex-officio non-voting
capacity.
D. Members shall serve a two-year term as specified in the Bylaws, Article
VI, Section 7.
E. The Safety Committee chairman shall represent Section XI on the
NYSPHSAA Safety Committee.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
A. The committee shall provide safety, medical, and chemical health information to athletic
directors as necessary.
B. The committee will present a written report to the Athletic Council at the end of the year
which outlines the work of the committee and other pertinent information
regarding chemical health, safety, and medical issues.
SEEDING COMMITTEE
PURPOSE
To be responsible for seeding team tournaments.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. This shall be a standing committee of Section XI.
B. The chairman shall be appointed by the Section XI President with
the approval of the Executive Board.
C. Committee membership shall consist of one male and one female
from each conference. The Executive Director shall serve in an ex-officio
non-voting capacity.
D. Committee members shall serve a two-year term as specified in the
Bylaws, Article VI, Section 7.
E. The committee shall meet at the end of each sport season to seed
teams for team tournaments.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
A. The committee shall consider data provided by the Section XI
office and sport chairmen for the purpose of seeding Section XI team
tournaments.
B. The committee shall follow the procedures as defined in the
Section XI Handbook, SEEDING.
